2024 Ortho Clerkship DEI Scholarship

We are pleased to offer three full scholarships ($1500) for visiting medical students from diverse backgrounds to rotate through the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in Winston-Salem, NC.

Eligibility:

This scholarship is intended for students who identify as underrepresented in medicine based on race/ ethnicity (Black/African‐American, LatinX, American Indian/Alaskan Native), gender (female), sexual orientation (LGBTQ+), or from an economically disadvantaged background.
Students who apply based on identifying as 'economically disadvantaged' or having a financial situation that is deemed as 'low' or 'very low' income, must meet the criteria found in the Health Resources & Services Administration definitions of environmentally disadvantaged or economically disadvantaged located at the following link: https://bhw.hrsa.gov/glossary#:~:text=Disadvantaged%20Background&text=A%20person's%20environment%20inhibited%20them,from%20a%20health%20professions%20school
